Red Haus, with its Austrian Alps-inspired design and distinctive red tile roof, has been an unqualified success for Streetside Development, as the three apartment-style condo buildings already built in the complex are almost all sold out.

“We built it, and buyers came, we only have 14 units left in the third building and we are confident that sales will continue to be strong for the Vandenburg,” says Karen Payne, lead sales associate for Red Haus.

The Vandenburg, which will be launched on May 5th, marks the final phase of the four-building project and Payne says this is why she expects robust sales to continue.

“Our location is our biggest advantage, and the Vandenburg represents the last opportunity for buyers to buy a new home in a multi-family setting in this very popular community of Royal Oak in the northwest,” she says.

“The northwest part of Calgary has been the subject of intense homebuyer demand and has quickly grown into the most desirable place to live in the city,” Payne says. “There’s a quality of life here that’s hard to find anywhere else and Red Haus sits in the middle of all these.” 

The entire Red Haus project, in fact, has all the necessary ingredients for success — a good location just off Country Hills Boulevard and Stoney Trail, aesthetically efficient design, and a distinctive look with its red tile roof that can be seen for miles around. 

The Vandenburg will be, like the other three buildings at Red Haus (Lindenburg, Salzburg, and Ravensburg), a four-storey wood frame building consisting of a mix of one-and two-bedrooms suites. Suites are from 573 to 1,067 square-feet, with prices starting from the $150,000s. 

There will be 15 floor plans available in the 136-unit Vandenburg, ranging from studios to two-bedroom-two-bath suites. 

“Its open concept floor plans and finish specifications have always put it a cut above the rest. The higher floors of the fourth building, especially the corner units, will have unobstructed views of the surrounding mountain and cityscape,” Payne says. 

The red tile roof not only makes Red Haus stand out but makes it more durable and has a 50-year guarantee, longer than regular asphalt shingle roofing. Also, because it is heavier, Streetside had to put in extra support between the walls, which adds to sound attenuation benefits to each unit.

There has already been a high level of interest in this project, Payne says, as she encourages interested parties to register at http://www.redhausliving.comto receive advance details about the project prior to May 5th when it launches.

Buyers will find a nearly complete development with everything already in place, including an extremely well-equipped club house that has everything from a fitness room, kitchen and preparation area for parties, sun deck, and a game room with a pool table and a big screen TV.

Payne says buyers have mostly been right-sizers coming from nearby communities in the area, and first-time homebuyers who grew up around the neighbourhood. “When you’ve lived life in the area, you really never want to leave, and Red Haus gives people this opportunity at a really affordable rate,” she says.

It is surrounded by acres of green space and pathway systems, and nearby amenities including the Royal Oak and Rocky Ridge Community Centre. Transit links homeowners to the Crowfoot C-train line, so whether they are going to work downtown or going to school at SAIT or the University of Calgary, they have convenient options available.

“Besides that, there is no shortage of amenities in the community, as we are right across from the Royal Oak Wal-Mart and Sobey’s grocery, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from. And with the Stoney Trail access it is that much closer to a mountain getaway.”

The C1E show suite in Ravensburg gives buyers an idea of the supreme style and quality they can expect from Red Haus, as the 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom-and-two-bath model has no shortage of either. “People just love the kitchen design in this one, it is very functional with lots of counter space and drawers and looks quite elegant,” Payne says. “Red Haus is exactly that: functional style.”
